Streamline Competition Swimwear Fabric

The Crayon Sharks Jammers is made from a high tech swimwear fabric called Streamline. Streamline is an advanced material that has been designed to reduce drag by its water repellent resin stripes. The resin stripes theoretically enhance how the fabric slides through the water. The Streamline fabric is sleek and smooth to touch and in this respect are very similar to traditional Lycra® fabric. Streamline is similar in appearance to Speedos Aquablade material. Streamline is made from 87% Polyester / 13% Lycra and weighs 240 grams per square meter.

Draw String Waist

The draw string waist is fully adjustable allowing you to tighten the garment for a secure fit. The drawstring waist prevents the garment from falling down when diving in the pool.

A word on undersizing your racing swimsuit

Many swimmers believe that in order to swim fast, they need to buy a swimsuit that will fit very tightly on their body. However, when swimmers do this, they shorten the life of their swimsuit due to the intense pulling on the seams and the added stretch to the fabric. The competition swimsuits on Swimmer.com.au are made from high performance fabrics and have been designed for speed. Therefore, the swimsuits are already cut smaller to ensure a snug fit. We do not recommend undersizing on your competition swimwear, as this has already been taken into account. However, if your measurements place you in between two sizes please select the smaller size as the swimsuit is better to be tight as opposed to loose.

How to take your measurements

Please look at the size charts above to determine what measurements you will need to take in order to determine your size for the Crayon Sharks Jammers.

CHEST measure beginning under your arm, over the fullest part of your chest/bust and around your back to the starting point under your arm.

WAIST bend to one side to find the crease of your natural waist. Stand straight. For female suits, measure around your natural waist making sure to allow one finger between your body and the tape. For male suits, measure 1" (2.5cm) below natural waist or just above the hip bone (where you would normally wear your swimsuit).

HIPS stand straight and find the top of your hip bone. Measure around your hips making sure you keep the tape on the top of your hip bone.

TORSO place beginning of tape measure on your shoulder at your neck. Run tape measure over the fullest portion of your bust down between your legs and up your back to the starting point on your shoulder.
