Arena Swimwear Fabrics

ARENA POWERSKIN® X-RAPTOR FABRIC
View all Arena Swimsuits

X-Raptor fabric is used to manufacture Arena’s ever popular Powerskin ST 2.0. X-Raptor is a lightweight fabric that has been specially treated to have an extra smooth outer surface. X-Raptor also makes use of knitted fabric with integrated compression. The result is a powerful textile that has been engineered for minimal surface drag and faster swimming.
X-Raptor also makes use of a higher lycra content (29%) and thin material structure to provide suits that are comfortable and fast-drying. This fabric composition also guarantee’s excellent durability in chlorinated water, so you will get more races out of your suit. However, it is important to note that X-Raptor is a technical fabric and is not intended for frequent use in the pool. X-Raptor fabric will have a shorter lifetime if used for training.

X-Raptor Features:
  • Smooth and thin structure
  • Reduced surface drag
  • Compressive knitted fabric
  • Perfect Firm Fit
  • Durable
  • Fast Drying
  • Maximum UV protection

ARENA POWERSKIN® R-EVO FABRIC
View all Arena Swimsuits

Arena Powerskin R-Evo Fabric Is exclusively used to create Arena’s Powerskin R-Evo One suits. As Arena’s lightest fabric to date, R-Evo is a textile masterpiece. This ultra-light weight woven fabric offers light compression as well as uniform stretch that guarantee’s total freedom of movement for swimmers using R-Evo fabricated suits. Comprised of 78% polymide and 22% lycra, R-Evo fabric is also hydrodynamic, resulting in a clean and effortless glide through the water.

Additionally, R-Evo fabric has been engineered so that only the one piece of fabric is needed to bring together an entire tech suit. That is to say, R-Evo One suits are designed using only a single bonded seam at the back. The absence of multiple seams provides uniform stretch throughout the suit and gives the swimmer total freedom of movement. R-Evo fabric can be expected to maintain durability in chlorinated environments when used for its intended racing purpose. However please note that as a technical fabric, R-Evo is not chlorine resistant and will lose its integrity if used for training.

Powerskin R-Evo Features:
  • Ultra-light-weight
  • Woven fabric
  • Hydrodynamic
  • Smooth and thin structure
  • Reduced surface drag
  • Lightly compressive
  • Total Freedom of Movement
  • Durable
  • Fast Drying

ARENA CARBON TECHNOLOGY® FABRIC
View all Arena Swimsuits

Each of Arena’s carbon series suits incorporates Carbon technology fabric. This technology utilises Carbon fibre – strands of carbon that are thinner than human hair – that are twisted together and woven into cloth that is five times as strong as steel and twice as stiff – but only one third of it’s weight. Arena’s use of Carbon fibres results in a highly intelligent fabric that provides a protective web that regulates stretching by ‘locking down’ once critical stretch levels are reached. As a result, Carbon technology fabric:

  • Prevents uneven stress damage by providing maximum compression on over-extended zones
  • Increases support and control when and where needed
  • Boosts performance though reducing drag, improving efficiency and maximising power.
By weaving elastomer yarns across their special Carbon fibre grid, Arena’s Carbon technology fabric also retains elasticity which allows for comfort while preventing the stiff carbon fibres from affecting the swimmer’s mobility. While the addition of elastomer provides flexibility in Carbon technology fabric suits, it is important to note that as a compressive textile, carbon technology fabric suits will take time to put on. However, many swimmers find the results worth it as compression will:

  • Force your muscles closer to your blood supply, resulting in more energy by increasing muscular blood flow.
  • Get your blood pumping, so your muscles will be warmed up and ready to sprint before you even hit the diving blocks.
  • And helps prevent a build-up of lactic acid, which is an important aspect of a speedy recovery.
Carbon Technology Features:
  • Ultra-light-weight
  • Resilient Woven fabric
  • Hydrodynamic
  • Maximum compression
  • Reduced surface drag
  • Allows for movement and mobility
  • Fast Drying
